About Us

People often ask us how we got into the business of tea. Honestly, it was not anything we ever would have imagined being involved in. We had owned a few businesses before and realized that being small-business owners was just something that worked for us. So when Pybus Public Market was being developed in Wenatchee, WA, I tried to think about what kind of business we could bring there. I remember drinking tea as a young child and I've always loved it. Tea just seemed to be a good fit at the new public market.

Once we had decided to go ahead with a new loose-leaf tea shop, we had to decide on a name. Dustin's grandmother was always very dear to him so we thought we could honor her and her Portuguese heritage by calling the business Chá Fine Teas. Chá (pronounced "shaw") is Portuguese for tea.

We started our business in May 2013 and have not stopped learning about tea since. It's such a great community to be involved in and we absolutely love sharing information about tea with our customers. Come in anytime and talk tea with us. Or come to one of our classes to learn the basics of loose-leaf tea. We'd also love to do a tea-tasting with you. Learn how to examine the dry leaf, wet leaf, and liquor, and discover the intricacies of tea.

Our teas have been featured in Tea Time Magazine five times and that's something we're very proud of. The blends that they picked as some of their favorites are our Earl Grey la Creme, Peachy Keen, Spicy Chai, Pybus Spice, and Citrus Spice. We know you'll love them too! Give them a try.

Our second location opened in Truckee, CA in October 2015. It's owned/operated by our aunt and cousin, Cindy and Tina. They share a passion for tea, just like us, so it seemed a perfect fit for our brand. When you walk into the Truckee store you'll be immediately greeted with a smile. There's nothing pretentious about this tea shop, just a warm welcome by two lovely ladies who are excited to share their love of tea. They go out of their way to make your experience at Chá Fine Teas a wonderful one.

No matter why you stop by or which location you're at, we're happy to meet locals and visitors from out-of-town. Welcome to Chá Fine Teas, where our goal is to make fine-quality loose-leaf tea accessible to everyone!
